How to improve the heat transfer efficiency of heat exchanger

When designing or using heat exchanger, we should think of ways to improve the heat transfer efficiency of heat exchanger, reduce the resistance of heat exchanger, and select appropriate materials and sealing materials, so as to ensure the safe operation of heat exchanger and prolong its service life. 1. Improve the surface heat transfer coefficient of the plate

The surface heat transfer coefficient is related to the shape and structure of the plate ripple and the flow state of the medium. Generally speaking, the wave shape of the plate has herringbone shape, flat shape and spherical shape. Among them, the surface heat transfer coefficient of the herringbone shape is relatively high, and with the increase of the medium flow rate, the surface heat transfer coefficient will increase.

Reduce the thermal resistance of the fouling layer: it is to prevent the plate from scaling and prevent the impurities in the water from adsorbing on the plate. Therefore, if there is viscous debris in the water, it should be filtered out with a filter.

Select high thermal conductivity plate: there are austenitic stainless steel, titanium alloy, copper alloy and so on. Among them, austenitic stainless steel is OK, but its corrosion resistance to chloride ion is relatively poor.

Reducing plate thickness: it is related to the pressure bearing capacity of the heat exchanger. Under the condition of meeting the pressure bearing capacity, the smaller plate thickness should be selected as far as possible.

2. Increase the logarithmic mean temperature difference

Methods: counter current or mixed type is used to increase the temperature of the hot side fluid, and correspondingly, to reduce the temperature of the cold side fluid.

3. Determination of inlet and outlet pipe position

The inlet and outlet pipes of the fluid should be placed on one side of the fixed end plate of the heat exchanger, and the medium inlet and outlet positions should be arranged according to the principle of hot fluid entering from up to down and cold fluid from down to up, so as to improve the heat transfer efficiency of the heat exchanger.
